Meet The Team
Santiago Hors-Fraile is the CEO at Salumedia. He has been working in the design, development, and commercialization of digital health solutions since 2010. His expertise in health recommender systems combined with behavioral change models to foster patient adherence is the basis of the product of Salumedia. He studied a MSc in Computer Engineering at the University of Seville, Spain, and a MSc in Software Engineering at Cranfield University, UK. He also studied a short-term program in Healthcare Digital Marketing in Madrid, Spain, and several international digital engagement courses.
Víctor Alonso is computer science engineer, having studied at Fachhochschule Trier (Germany), Universidad de Granada and Universidad de Castilla-La Mancha (Spain).
After a 3 years long freelance adventure he wanted to join Salumedia to take part in the ICT team. He has more than 8 years of experience developing Android apps and working with PHP environments.
Enthusiastic about free software and technology.
A higher degree in Administration and Finance. María is from Seville and has more than15 years of experience in business administration. Her responsibilities at Salumedia are billing, recording and control of analytical accounting, control of treasury, quarterly closings, preparing budgets, and any administrative tasks and support.
Bachelor’s degree in Biotechnology and MSc in Neuroscience and Behavioral Biology at Pablo de Olavide University. Alba strongly believes that research must be at the service of social needs, showing interest in science dissemination since the first stages in her professional career. She has completed two years of research in Neuroscience at Pablo de Olvide University and has extensive experience in organising science events in Spain. She also has a wide international experience in both France and United Kingdom. In a nutshell, scientific education, experience in the field of research and additional humanistic education are her tools for contributing to progress.
Alba is Executive Assistant and Scrum master at Salumedia.
The Head of Research & Innovation and DPO at Salumedia. Kiko is responsible for coordination, planning and management of the on-going R&D projects portfolio of the company, including high-level decision making in both technical and managerial areas. Consortia building, finding calls for funding through national and international agencies and drafting of scientific proposals are part of his daily responsabilities. Besides, as DPO, he supervises personal data processes being compliant with current regulation (GDPR).
His background is Telecommunications Engineer, MSc in Electronics, Signal Processing and Communications and PhD student in Learning Health Systems at the University of Seville. He was Executive Coordinator of the EU H2020 FAIR4Health project, and is member of Research Data Alliance and AENOR CTN139 of Information Technologies and Communications for Health. He has 10 years of experience as a researcher in health informatics projects at regional, national and European level. His work has resulted in 30+ scientific contributions in national and international journals and congresses.
BBA in International Trade from Kymenlaakso University of Applied Sciences (Finland) with studies from the Fachhochschule Stralsund (Germany), and MSc in Business Creation and Entrepreneurship from University of Tromsø (Norway). As a patient of a chronic disease she wanted to do her Master’s thesis about creating a business and commercialising a real-life innovation developed for patients at a research center in Tromsø. That is how she got involved in mHealth and in Salumedia.
Päivi is a Communication Strategist and Project Manager at Salumedia.
With a background from Biomedical Engineering from Técnico de Lisboa (Portugal), Francisco specialised in human function technology and earned his Master’s degree at the University of Twente (The Netherlands). His work covered the field of medical technology research and development: his thesis focused on sensory substitution for users of wearable lower-limb exoskeletons; at the Neurorehabilitation Lab. of the University of Birmingham (UK) he worked on Transcranial Magnetic Stimulation; since the beginning of 2016 he was involved in different projects at Starlab Neuroscience Barcelona as a Junior Researcher. With a growing interest for digital health, Francisco is currently working on his PhD on tailoring/personalisation and gamification to encourage Cancer survivors adhering to a healthy lifestyle.
Industrial Engineer from the University of Seville, Spain with a specialization in Industry Organization. Juan completed his studies at the Escuela Superior de Ingeniería in Seville (Spain) and studied two years at Technische Universität Graz (Austria). He has also done an Executive MBA in one and a half-year program, and is currently doing a Marie Curie PhD in the field of Commercialization of service innovation in University of Southern Denmark in the context of Cancer Connected Health with 20 months secondment at Salumedia.
He has twelve years of professional experience in Sales, Process Engineering, Industrial Processes Optimization, Purchasing, Product Quality, Project Management and Consultancy, amongst others.
Mercè has a Degree in Communication Science, an Executive MBA and a Master in Communication. More than twenty years of professional experience in Healthcare. Fourteen years in Marketing and Sales Oncology Department in the Pharmaceutical Company. In the last six years of his career she has developed a strong professional profile in a Digital Health environment. Within this world of digital health has done Consulting, Project Management, Organization of Events, Communication Strategies, working side by side with Private and Public Organizations in the Healthcare, among others.
She is a Digital Health Woman Advocate, with passion for innovation health outreach, highly motivated in add value and she loves the challenges. CATCH is the perfect project to achieve new professional and personal goals fully targeted in her focus. Her new challenge is to do this industrial PhD in the environment of Connected Health, to contribute relevant research in the development and commercialization of the use of Digital Solutions for patients with Cancer and also, doing it in a European environment and establish international cross-sectoral collaborations.
